The Kazbek Mountain Summit Expedition is an unforgettable adventure for climbers seeking to conquer a classic Caucasus peak, experience breathtaking alpine scenery, and challenge their high-altitude mountaineering skills.

We will start our activity by meeting at Tbilisi Airport at 09:00 in the morning. After the vehicle picks up all participants, we will set off and head towards the town of Stepantsminda. Depending on road conditions, we will have a short break for breakfast. After breakfast, we plan to reach our destination with a journey of approximately 4 hours.
On the way, we will visit the historical Ananuri Church, and then enjoy the wonderful view in Gudauri. In the afternoon, we will settle into the hostel in Stepantsminda and have the opportunity to explore and get used to the town.

After gathering at 9:00 AM, we load our bags onto the jeeps and head towards Trinity (Gergeti) Church. After about half an hour's journey, we disembark and hand over our luggage to the mules at the church, located at approximately 2,250 meters. From here, our target will be the Meteo campsite, at around 3,650 meters.
It is important to remember to bring relatively warm clothing and crampons, as we may need them in the final section.
We plan to reach the Meteo campsite around 3:00 PM. After setting up camp, we rest and try to acclimatize to the altitude by taking short walks around the area.

Konaklama

Tent

Normally, summit attempts can be made from the Meteo campsite, but this is quite tiring and exhausting. Therefore, after packing up our camp around 10:00 AM, we will hike for about 3 hours to the area where the glacier begins at around 4,000 meters and set up camp again. From this area, where there is a water source, we plan to ascend to the summit rested and acclimatized to the altitude. The rest of the day will be spent resting and acclimatizing to the altitude. From here, our plan will proceed in two alternatives:
Alternative 1: If conditions are suitable for a summit attempt on the first day…

Konaklama

Tent

We will depart for the summit at 4:00 AM. Our camp will be left as it is, and we will set off with lighter backpacks for the summit climb. Depending on the group's pace and weather conditions, we plan to return to the same camp after completing our summit activity. Under normal circumstances, we expect to reach the camp around 1:00 PM. After the descent from the summit, if the time and the group's physical condition permit, we will descend to the Meteo camp. However, if the group is tired, the weather deteriorates, or the return time is unsuitable, we will stay overnight at the current camp again.

Konaklama

Tent

If we spent the previous night at the upper camp, we pack up our camp in the morning and descend to the Meteo campsite. After a short rest upon reaching Meteo, we prepare our gear and hand it over to the mules. Then we continue our trek back to the town of Stepantsminda and settle into our lodging. If we stayed at the Meteo campsite the previous night, the same process will be followed in the morning to return to the town after packing up the camp.

Konaklama

Hostel

After breakfast, we will depart for Tbilisi. Upon arrival in Tbilisi, the activity will conclude with those wishing to stay in the city center being dropped off there, and those returning home being dropped off at the airport. It is recommended that your flight tickets be booked for 3 PM or later; otherwise, you may experience problems arriving at the airport on time.

Konaklama

Hotel

Today is scheduled as a backup day in our program. It will be used to safely complete the climb and descent processes if necessary, in case of delays in weather conditions, summit attempts, or transfers. If all activities proceed smoothly as planned, we will dedicate the 7th day to a cultural tour of Tbilisi. We aim to spend an enjoyable day walking through the old streets of Tbilisi, visiting historical buildings, and sampling local delicacies.
